False Chord Magazine is a print and digital magazine and media outlet based in Toronto, Canada.
“There was something special about getting your favorite music magazine in the mail back in the day, cutting out the pages of your favorite bands and sticking them to your walls. I miss those days.”
Founded in 2025, False Chord Magazine was established to provide a new platform for bands to reach new listeners, no matter if they’re just starting out or an established touring band.
For our readers and listeners, our goal is to bring new heavy music to your ears and magazines back to your mailbox (or inbox).
What we believe in
1. We’re genre-agnostic
We use the term heavy as a broad category. We don’t exclude great music because its genre doesn’t fit within a certain niche.
2. We don’t rank music
We don’t believe it’s right to compare artists. Art is subjective, and all music is valid (except AI bands). However, we will only feature music that we subjectively like.
3. We’re fan focused
Our goal is to create content and experiences that can get you closer to your favourite artists and introduce you to your next favourite artist.
