Out from the backdoor of the dimly lit Bovine Sex Club (a famous music venue in Toronto, not an actual sex club) stepped Gutter King. Having just finished soundcheck, and ensuring the van was locked and not in a towable spot, we made our way through the back alleys behind Queen street and into the famous Graffiti Alley. Soaking in what little Toronto spring sunlight was still available, we set up our tripods for our interview. On the walk to the location, I asked if they had done many interviews on this tour, to which singer Bert Heatlie, replied “this is our only interview of the tour.” A statement highlighting that the Canadian media is still sleeping on many talented acts in the heavy music space. And one we’re happy to capitalize on.
