With Fit For A King’s eighth album Lonely God released just under a year ago, FFAK brought these songs and some of their classics to the masses across North America on their Lonely God tour supported by Invent Animate, Ten56, and Acres. We saw them play the London Music Hall in London, Canada, on May 27, 2026.
Opening the show was the UK’s own Acres. Even as an opening band, they proved they can pull their weight, nearly filling up the venue before 7 pm. Playing hits like My Everything, Take My Last Breath and Lost, the quintet got the crowd moving (and crowdsurfing) and ready for the stacked lineup ahead.
Following up the album Burning Throne, which launched the band into mainstream metalcore attention in 2023, they followed this up with their latest album The Host which includes the song Push Me Away featuring Landon Tewers of The Plot In You, released via Tooth & Nail // Solid State Records.

Following Acres was none other than the Parisian quintet Ten56. Fronted by Aaron Matts, former vocalist of Betraying The Martyrs, Ten56 decimated the stage from the moment they stepped on the stage. Named after the police code for a suicide call (10-56), heavy isn’t a strong enough description. With brutal deathcore riffs combined with Aaron’s signature scream, Ten56 blew everyone away. On their latest record IO, the self-titled song IO, is an anomaly for the band, which features Aaron not only singing but rapping as well. On the record it sounds like it could be something off an underground UK trap album, translated to the stage, guitarist Quentin Godet rips a clean-tone guitar solo, before the rest of the band comes back on stage to finish out their soul crushing set.

Thinking that Ten56 outshone the bands after them, would be a good guess, until Invent Animate walked onto the stage. Playing tracks off of their famed album Heavener, and their latest single Fall Like Rain, Invent Animate’s Markus Vic proved why he’s at the forefront of metal vocalists. His range is massive, both clean singing and screaming. He commands the stage and had the crowd under his finger, bringing multiple walls of death together, and the most crowd surfers London Music Hall has seen in a while.
Much like Ten56, Invent Animate is a band that you need to see live. The emotion of the music cannot be captured on a record. When you hear “I wasn’t born to be afraid, under the quiet whispers that fall like rain” live, you will instantly feel the need to run into a moshpit.

Just when you thought you got your money’s worth, Fit For A King starts their set with Begin The Sacrifice, the opening track from their latest record Lonely God. Ryan Kirby’s mastery of singing with distortion is a work of art to hear live, evident from the very first song of their set. Plus, you got to see Ryan “Tuck” O’Leary, swing his bass around his body like he was allergic to it. At one point during the set, someone had some takeout which got passed to Tuck, courtesy of a helping hand from a photographer in the pit. He takes a few bites, before passing it back to continue playing the song.
Fit For A King have been around for over a decade, solidifying their spot at the forefront of the heavy scene and proving why they’re headlining venues across North America.
