Hailing from Shizuoka and Osaka, Japan, Mindscape is a five-piece Djent/progressive metalcore band, formerly known as Penetrate.
Having recently opened for Northlane in Japan back in July, and after listening to their latest single, I understand why they were brought on. With crushing djent riffs mixed with ethereal guitar lines layered throughout the music, Mindscape gives me big Northlane, ERRA and Currents vibes.
The latest single “Mirage” blends lo-fi elements with modern metalcore. I’m a fan of clean vocals in a chorus, and this doesn’t disappoint. I think the piano line underneath the chorus is also a really nice touch to the production. And do yourself a favour and stay until 2:30 of the track.
You can hear Mirage on our Spotify playlist “Before They Blow Up.”
